Samsung has announced an official list of Galaxy smartphones and tablets confirmed to receive the Android 17 operating system update coupled with the One UI 9 user interface. This announcement initially came through the company's branch in Japan, outlining the regional roadmap that provides clear indicators for global users on what to expect over the coming months.
Release Schedule and Scope of Included Devices
Samsung began rolling out the One UI 9 interface in conjunction with the launch of the Galaxy S26 smartphone series last September, before gradually expanding to include a number of previous-generation phones. The newly announced list covers a wide range of devices including flagship families, foldable versions, as well as mid-range phones and tablets.
Among the most prominent devices featured in the list:
- Galaxy S26, S25, and S24 smartphone series along with the S24 FE and S23 editions
- Foldable phones Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the previous two generations 6 and 5
- Mid-range models such as Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25
- Tablets including Galaxy Tab S11, Tab S10, Tab S9 series, and Tab A11
What Changes Practically?
Samsung clarified that the rollout of the update in the Japanese market will take place during October and November 2026, to be followed by a gradual expansion to other global markets. Updates for budget devices or lower-cost models are likely to extend through the following December and January. Although the current list is not considered final or comprehensive of all models such as certain sub-versions or Plus models in some markets, it provides an approximate timeframe for Samsung device owners worldwide to track the arrival of official updates.
