Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike has announced definitive agreements to acquire Fiddler AI and Dreadnode, in a deal valued at approximately $495 million. This move comes as part of the company's strategy to expand the scope of protection for AI environments within its leading Falcon security platform.
Acquisition Details and Objectives
According to reports, the acquisition of Fiddler AI is valued at approximately $400 million, while the Dreadnode deal is worth about $95 million. These deals are expected to close during the fourth quarter of the company's fiscal year 2027, which ends on January 31, 2027.
These acquisitions will contribute to integrating advanced technologies into the Falcon platform, where Fiddler AI provides monitoring capabilities for AI agents, including tracking agent decisions, detecting behavioral deviations, and monitoring software hallucinations, in addition to compliance logs and token consumption tracking. On the other hand, Dreadnode provides offensive tools for testing AI security, allowing users to simulate more than 100 attack strategies, such as prompt injection and jailbreaks.
What Does This Mean for Users?
This move is a direct response to the increasing reliance on AI agents in work environments, which creates a new attack surface that requires specialized protection. By integrating Dreadnode's technologies, organizations will be able to test their AI models and agents against standard frameworks such as OWASP Top 10 for LLMs and MITRE ATLAS, while converting the results into immediate security policy recommendations.
Concurrent with these acquisitions, CrowdStrike launched the AI Kill Switch feature within the Falcon Guardian product, which grants system administrators the authority to stop any AI agent behaving abnormally and prevent it from restarting or accessing the network, providing an additional layer of protection against emerging threats in AI environments.
