Apple has released the first beta versions of its operating systems watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS under version 27.3, coinciding with the release of beta versions for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS Golden Gate 27.3. This step comes just one week after the release of the previous beta updates for version 27.2.
Developers enrolled in Apple's program can now download these versions directly through the Settings app from their various devices.
Anticipated artificial intelligence features for Apple Watches
Data indicates that the watchOS 27.3 update may bring new features within the "Apple Intelligence" suite dedicated to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, scheduled for release in late 2026. Two main features stand out in this context:
- Live Rewind feature: Allows users to get a transcription of what was said in the last 15 seconds by double-pressing the Digital Crown.
- Siri Recap feature: Converts conversations the user had throughout the day into high-level notes.
What changes practically?
This direction represents Apple's attempt to deepen the integration of generative artificial intelligence in wearable devices. Instead of merely executing simple voice commands, the watch will be able to act as an instantaneous information retrieval tool and smart summary of daily situations, reducing reliance on the mobile phone for quick tasks. However, these features remain tied to devices that will be released in late 2026, meaning the actual value of this update will fully appear with the upcoming hardware cycle.
While leaks focused on watchOS, Apple has not provided any additional information regarding new features that visionOS and tvOS 27.3 beta versions might include so far.
