Apple Releases Public Betas for iOS 27.3 and macOS Golden Gate 27.3
Apple launched the Public Betas of its new software update package today, which includes iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS Golden Gate 27.3, as well as updates for watchOS 27.3 and tvOS 27.3. This release comes two days after the versions were made available to developers, paving the way for the official launch expected next December.
Significant Improvements in iOS and iPadOS
The iOS 27.3 system sees major updates aimed at improving the browsing experience and artificial intelligence. In the Safari browser, users can now use the "Vertical Tabs" option and enable "Adaptive Dark Mode." The Siri AI assistant has also seen a qualitative leap, becoming capable of executing more complex tasks across different applications, with the opportunity for developers to create custom actions for the assistant to execute.
Regarding health, the Health app has received a comprehensive redesign that includes "Custom Insights" and information about "Longevity." The iPhone Duo also supports the Reachability feature, while the Apple Music app has received the new "Selfie Sing" feature.
Audio Intelligence in Apple Watch
The updates were not limited to phones but extended to include Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 through "Audio Intelligence" features. These features include the Live Rewind capability, which provides a written transcript of the last 15 seconds of conversation, and the Siri Recap feature, which provides a high-level summary of conversations that took place during the day.
macOS Updates and Live Activities
As for the macOS Golden Gate 27.3 system, it carries the same Safari browser improvements and introduces the "Live Activities" feature for Mac devices that do not have the "Dynamic Island," which enhances users' ability to follow real-time updates directly on the desktop.
What Changes Practically?
This update represents a shift toward integrating artificial intelligence more deeply into the core of the daily user experience, especially through the new Siri capabilities that go beyond just answering questions to executing actual actions within applications. Through features like "Vertical Tabs" and "Live Activities" on the Mac, Apple also aims to bridge the gaps in the user experience between different devices, making interaction with real-time information smoother regardless of the device type or its technical specifications.
