The British company Inherent says its Faraday agent managed to reproduce the results of published scientific papers, outperforming Claude Opus 4.8 and GPT-5.5 in its test despite running on a much smaller model. The company believes that training the agent through reinforcement learning could be a step toward systems capable of contributing to the discovery of new scientific knowledge.
