Cloudflare Moves to Become a Public Certificate Authority and Plans to Issue Quantum-Resistant Certificates

Cloudflare announced that it has submitted applications to join the trusted root programs of Chrome, Apple, Microsoft, and Mozilla, along with an agreement to acquire a trusted root from GlobalSign. The company plans to launch production Merkle Tree Certificates in the first quarter of 2027, but it has not yet begun issuing certificates.
