Google researchers, in collaboration with Northwestern Medicine and Jacaranda Health, tested an artificial intelligence model that analyzes simplified ultrasound scans performed by health workers who received brief training. The study, which included 1,000 mothers in Nairobi and another 1,000 in Chicago, showed that the model could estimate gestational age and fetal position with accuracy comparable to that of a trained ultrasound technician.
