Orange has announced the ReuNION project to create a submarine cable connecting Réunion Island with South Africa, with the aim of diversifying international communications routes and strengthening network resilience. The system will comprise 16 fiber-optic pairs with capacity of up to 20 terabits per second per pair, supported by European funding programs.
