Officials from NASA and the Peruvian Space Agency discussed the expansion of the Artemis Accords, which include 76 countries, as well as the principles of transparency, sustainability and interoperability in space exploration during the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya. The discussions also addressed space debris, academic cooperation and Turkey’s growing role in the sector.
Muttalip Tütüncü, Secretary-General of SAHA İstanbul, believes that the growth of Turkey’s defense industry can no longer be sustained by relying solely on the domestic market, and that small and medium-sized enterprises are required to shift toward exports and develop high-tech, low-cost solutions. He also stressed the continuing need for localization, investment in artificial intelligence, and the expansion of civilian and space applications for defense technologies.
