Daily Technology Digest — October 10, 2026
A day focused on reshaping the artificial intelligence market: specialized models and others that choose the best model for each task, alongside growing questions about agent privacy. Beyond AI, the new Endeavor fund drew attention to startups outside traditional capital hubs, while a study revealed complex organization of brain activity under psilocybin, and a small electric truck emerged with a bet on cities’ needs.
AI Between Specialization and Multiple Models
AI tool development is moving toward more specialized models and systems capable of distributing tasks rather than relying on a single model. Microsoft launched Microsoft-Decision-1 for decision-making within applications, agents, and workflows, based on Alibaba’s Qwen3.5-9B and offered at a relatively low input price.
Along the same lines, Grok Bot announced that it would choose the most suitable model for each request, including external models such as Claude Opus 5.5. This reflects a new model economy: most tasks are assigned to cheaper options, while the most powerful models are reserved for cases that genuinely require their capabilities.
Privacy Puts Agents’ Promises to the Test
OpenAI and Meta are competing to offer AI agents with stronger privacy promises, but security issues and data-collection behaviors associated with Muse highlight the gap between marketing messages and practical use. Agents’ access to sensitive information, and the extent of users’ control over that access, remain crucial factors in building trust.
Technology Funding Expands Beyond Traditional Hubs
Endeavor Catalyst closed its fifth fund at $320 million to invest in up to 150 startups outside the usual venture-capital hubs. The fund brings the company’s assets under management to more than $850 million, with growing interest in artificial intelligence, deep technology, and technical infrastructure.
Brain Science: Psilocybin’s “Chaos” Is More Organized Than It Appears
A study published in Nature indicates that psilocybin does not cause random chaos in brain activity, but instead reorganizes it according to time and context. A machine-learning model linked this pattern to changes in the sense of self and the world, as well as positive psychological effects the following day, while therapeutic applications remain within the scope of research.
A Small Electric Truck for Cities
Telo aims to redefine the pickup truck with the MT1, an electric vehicle the size of a Mini Cooper that provides a full-size cargo bed and an 800/400-volt electrical architecture. Despite recording more than 14,000 reservations, it still faces crash tests and EPA and California certifications before targeted deliveries in 2027.
