Intuitive Machines announced that it had secured a contract from an undisclosed customer to build three communications satellites in geostationary orbit, worth more than $600 million over 30 months. The contract strengthens the company’s presence in commercial satellite manufacturing alongside its lunar projects.
NASA delivered the NavCube3-mini navigation device to Intuitive Machines for integration into Altus-1, the first satellite in the lunar relay network the company plans to build. The device aims to test the use of GPS and Galileo signals to determine spacecraft positions at lunar distances and support communications and navigation for future missions.
