JetBrains has added to CLion 2026.2.2 an AI skill that uses MCP tools to analyze fault logs, memory, and instructions when a debugging session stops on a HardFault, with support for multiple debugging tools. The feature is enabled by default, but its support differs between AI modes and agents.
JetBrains plans to expand CLion’s capabilities in embedded-system debugging, AI-supported workflows, and support for QNX, LLDB 21, and ISPC across the 2026.2.x and 2026.3 releases. The company emphasizes that the roadmap is preliminary and that priorities or schedules may change.
