Rashid Al-Moumini, Kaspersky’s Regional General Manager, believes that the expansion of digital infrastructure requires interconnected protection for space systems and industrial control systems, alongside hosting security data locally. During GISEC, the company is announcing a partnership with Otech in the Sultanate of Oman to make its security solutions available through local data centers.
Kaspersky warned that the attack surface in space systems is expanding, noting that more than 3,000 GNSS receivers have been subjected to direct attacks over the internet. The risk includes ground control stations, communication channels, and user devices, with potential repercussions for navigation, energy, and logistics services.
