The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit declined to hold a link-aggregating site directly liable for copyright infringement merely because it directed a user's browser to content hosted on the copyright owner's servers. The court also narrowed the basis for treating URLs as copyright management information under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
