Google Quantum AI has practically demonstrated on the Willow processor that the “magic state cultivation” technique can reduce errors by about 40-fold, achieving a record logical fidelity of 99.99% for T states. The achievement removes one of the biggest resource bottlenecks facing the construction of error-corrected quantum computers, but it still needs to be demonstrated at a larger scale.
