PyCharm 2026.2.1 adds support for AI agents to work inside Jupyter notebooks using a live runtime kernel, along with directing package installation operations to the correct Python environment. The release also introduces support for marimo notebooks, improvements to package management and type checking, and changes to bundled plugins.

According to a JetBrains test involving six models and 28 tasks, the average success rate rose from 68% without access to the project environment to 98% when the skill was enabled.
