Cloudflare is acquiring the Deno team led by Ryan Dahl, while Deno will stop developing its independent runtime and Deno Deploy service. Cloudflare will integrate the open-source Celld project with Workerd to provide a distributed runtime model that can be operated outside its infrastructure.
Cloudflare redesigned the module registry in the Workers environment to use URLs and align more closely with Node.js behavior, with default support for stable Node.js APIs and an application limit increased to 64 MiB on all plans. The change is currently available through a compatibility flag and is not yet enabled automatically.
