40 Companies Join the Unicorn List in July, the Highest Monthly Total in More Than Four Years

Forty companies joined the Crunchbase Unicorn Board during July 2026, the highest monthly total in more than four years, according to an analysis published by Crunchbase News on August 14. Three companies entered the list with valuations exceeding $10 billion, while the new companies added more than $100 billion to the value of the list in each of the past two months.

The Crunchbase list includes private companies valued at $1 billion or more after a funding round. A company is added when it reaches this level in a funding round, and the list does not reflect internal valuations that may be determined for employee option purposes.

The United States Leads Geographically

Nineteen of the new companies in July came from the United States, just under half of the total. China ranked second with eight companies, followed by the United Kingdom with three and Singapore with two. One company each also came from Lithuania, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Australia, India, Israel and Hong Kong.

In terms of age, 15 of the newly added companies were less than three years old, while seven companies were more than 10 years old. In the first half of the year, 195 companies joined the list, a number that exceeds the total number of new companies recorded throughout 2025, according to the article.

The Most Represented Sectors

Financial services, robotics and artificial intelligence, including orchestration and multimodal artificial intelligence, along with energy and semiconductors, led the sectors by number of new companies.

In financial services, Ant International, a subsidiary of Ant Group, was valued at approximately $11.2 billion after a $1.2 billion Series A round, while Lumin Digital reached a valuation of $1.6 billion. The group also included AI-powered insurance company Ominimo, banking company Flex, and savings apps Super.com and Moneybox.

In robotics, LimX Dynamics raised $200 million in pre-IPO funding, reaching a valuation of $2.2 billion. The list also included British company Humanoid, which plans to deliver its wheeled pilot robots to customers in the fourth quarter, and Walden Robotics, which emerged from stealth with $300 million in seed funding.

In artificial intelligence, the list included Oxylabs, Multiverse Computing, Prime Intellect and Spectro Cloud, while Kling AI recorded the largest new valuation at $18 billion after a $2.8 billion funding round. Multimodal AI companies Meshy AI, Venice and HiDream.ai also joined.

Large Fundraises Outside Artificial Intelligence

In energy, Proxima Fusion was valued at $2.7 billion after a $470 million Series B round, while Antora Energy reached a valuation of $2.5 billion. In semiconductors, Xsight Labs raised $300 million in a Series E round, reaching a valuation of $2.8 billion.

Crunchbase News added that Crypto.com, Kling AI and Ant International together increased the value of the new companies by approximately $49 billion during the month. The figures are based on Crunchbase data, with foreign-currency fundraises converted into dollars using the spot exchange rate on the date the transaction was announced.
