Qatar’s Rasmal Ventures Invests in Yuno’s $45 Million Funding Round

Qatar-based Rasmal Ventures invested in the $45 million Series B funding round of Colombian company Yuno, coinciding with the company establishing Qatar as a regional hub for its operations in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The round was led by Global PayTech Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, QuantumLight Capital, Monashees, Kaszek and Endeavor Catalyst, alongside GrowthX Capital and Further Ventures. Rasmal joined the round as a strategic regional investor.

A Unified Payments Platform

Yuno was founded in 2022 by Juan Pablo Ortega and Julián Núñez. It provides companies with a single application programming interface connecting them to more than 1,000 payment methods through more than 460 integrations in 190 countries. The platform’s capabilities include intelligent transaction routing, one-click payments and artificial intelligence-powered fraud detection.

Over the past year, the company said it recovered more than $5 billion in transaction volume that would have failed for its merchant customers on its network, increased authorization rates by about 5% and saved customers more than $500 million in processing costs. Brands using Yuno for payments include McDonald's, NetEase Games, GoFundMe, inDrive and Rappi.

Qatar as a Hub for Gulf Expansion

Yuno has a regional office in Qatar and expanded in the Gulf after Yuno Payments Arabia obtained a payment technology service provider certificate from the Saudi Central Bank in April 2026.

The company also entered into a partnership with Tap Payments that enabled local payment channels, including Mada, KNET and NAPS, in the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Through a buy now, pay later partnership with Tabby, the platform became connected to more than 25 million shoppers in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

According to the article, ACI Worldwide classifies the Middle East as the world’s fastest-growing instant payments market. Rasmal believes that the market’s growth intersects with new trade corridors linking the Gulf with Asia, as well as with the digital wallets, payment channels and shoppers served by Yuno.

An Investment Bet on Infrastructure

Soumaya Ben Beya Dridje, a partner at Rasmal Ventures, said that the most difficult challenge in payments is being truly local in every market, adding that Yuno has addressed this problem on a global scale. She explained that the investment is based on building the infrastructure required for regional trade corridors, alongside the team’s financial discipline.

Hamad Al Hajri, founder of GrowthX Capital, said he has known Yuno founder Juan Pablo since his experience at Rappi, and considered that the company is building its next major venture from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, with Qatar as a regional hub.

For his part, Juan Pablo Ortega, co-founder and CEO of Yuno, said the company is raising funding to meet the growth of its customers and extend its progress, with a clear path toward achieving profitability next year. The investment is part of Rasmal’s program to build reciprocal access channels between Gulf markets and international innovation hubs in the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Asia.
