Meta announced the launch of Meta One, a paid subscription ecosystem that adds expanded artificial intelligence features, expression tools, and digital presence management tools within Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI. The company says the service currently includes more than 50 available features, with 15 million subscriptions and trials recorded so far, and that it will later extend to Edits, AI-powered glasses, and other products.
Meta emphasizes that basic use of its apps and Meta AI will remain free. The subscriptions are intended for people who need higher usage limits or more specialized features, particularly for creating and managing content and engaging with audiences.
Tiers for Individuals and AI Use
The ecosystem includes separate subscriptions for each app: Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and WhatsApp Plus. Instagram Plus, priced at €2.99 per month, offers custom fonts for direct messages and Stories, notifications when specific people view Stories, and message previews. Facebook Plus, at the same price, adds customization options for Messenger, broader indicators for Reels, and additional interactions on posts and Reels.
WhatsApp Plus costs €2.49 per month and includes themes, icons, stickers with effects, and the ability to pin more chats. Meta plans to test storing backups of chats and media, along with Focus Schedules for muting or hiding specific chats according to schedules set by the user.
The Core and Premium plans combine the benefits of individual subscriptions with greater use of some higher-compute AI tools. Core starts at €6.99 per month and provides increased usage of the Restyle tool in Instagram Stories, voice effects, and image and video generation through Meta AI and Muse models. Premium costs €20.99 per month, with higher usage levels for these capabilities across Meta apps.
What Changes for Creators and Businesses?
Meta is offering tiers tailored to creators and businesses starting at €16.99 per month under the Essential plan. These tiers include an expanded profile showing the location, branches, and user reviews; a clearer follow button in Reels; automatic invitations to follow for people who interact with content; and greater access to Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp for responding to customers.
The Advanced plan starts at €54.99 per month and adds Story scheduling for up to 30 days, link insertion in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, and account access sharing with team members without sharing the password. It also provides more connected devices and additional broadcast credits on WhatsApp.
The Expert and Max plans target teams managing large-scale operations, with prices starting at €169 and €549 per month, respectively, and offering the highest levels of access to the features and capacity of Meta Business Agent.
Why Does This Announcement Matter?
Meta One shifts AI features from being tools available as part of a general experience to a resource whose use can be expanded through payment, directly linking it to publishing tools, analytics, and customer service. This matters to creators and small businesses that want to manage their presence from within the apps themselves, but it makes cost and the actual features variable depending on the region, app, and account.
Meta says that more than half of subscribers in the tests used both AI features and expression features, and that Restyle and voice effects were among the main drivers of subscriptions. However, the announcement provides no independent details on retention or usage rates, and prices, availability, and features may vary by region. Edits Plus will be integrated later, with more cloud storage and an assistant for analyzing Instagram metrics and suggesting ideas, without specifying a launch date in the material.
