This was announced during a summit held in Cairo, where the companies received total investments amounting to 57.5 million Egyptian pounds, primarily directed toward enhancing production capacities and purchasing the assets and equipment necessary for market expansion.

Supporting Innovation in the Circular Economy

The program is jointly funded by the European Union and the German Federal Government, targeting companies operating in the fields of climate technology, circular economy, waste management, and sustainable materials. The program helped eight out of 12 companies complete licensing procedures and legalize their status, enhancing their ability to operate officially and sustainably in the local market.

Program organizers explained that the provided financial support was not limited to the financial aspect but also included technical and administrative guidance that helped founders prioritize and develop production lines. For example, companies such as Extractor Co. and PLANQ Electronics benefited from this support to transform their prototypes into factories and marketable products in reality.

Program Scope and Impact

The "GreenShift" program received more than 1,353 applications for participation, reflecting the growing interest in green entrepreneurship in Egypt. In addition to the business accelerator, the program offered a fellowship track utilized by 46 participants through 160 hours of training and consultations, and production assets worth 1.3 million pounds were provided to 18 early-stage companies.

The specializations of the 12 companies varied to include innovative solutions, including:
