Samsung has officially announced the launch of its new W27 phone in the Chinese market, a foldable device that represents the most luxurious and distinctive version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra series. This edition comes as part of the company's usual strategy to release exclusive and special versions for the Chinese market with luxurious designs targeting the elite class of users.
Luxurious Design and Premium Materials
The W27 phone differs from the standard version through aesthetic touches that give it an exceptional character; it comes with a gold-colored frame with a matching camera unit, in addition to an outer frame with a textured finish. The phone also offers color options for the back cover, including dark red and dark blue, while maintaining Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection and an IP48 standard for water and dust resistance. In terms of dimensions, the device maintains a thickness of 8.9 mm when folded and a weight of 215 grams.
Technical Specifications and Performance
Technically, the W27 adopts the same hardware power as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, making it one of the most powerful phones on the market. The device includes the following specifications:
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 customized for Galaxy devices.
- Displays: 8-inch foldable OLED screen and a 6.5-inch external screen.
- Battery: 5,000 mAh capacity.
- Camera System: 200 MP main sensor, 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10 MP (3x) telephoto lens.
Differences in Storage and Price
The biggest gap between the W27 and other versions lies in storage capacity and prices; the W27 is only available in high storage capacities starting from 16 GB of RAM with 512 GB or 1 TB of storage space, while lower options are available in the standard Z Fold 8 Ultra version.
This trend has significantly increased the device's price, with the 16/512 GB model starting at 18,999 Chinese yuan (approximately $2,852), while the 1 TB model reaches 21,999 yuan (approximately $3,303). For comparison, the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in the United States (1 TB version) is about $2,700, and the prices of the iPhone Duo phone in China are lower than the price of the W27.
What Makes This Package Special?
Unlike many competitors, Samsung provides a set of accessories in the box with this edition to enhance the luxury experience, as the package includes a magnetic cover made of Kevlar material, a 45W charger, and a USB-C cable, making it a complete product targeting users looking for both technical and aesthetic excellence.
