Recent data revealed continued momentum in funding for U.S. startups during October 2026, with major venture capital firms leading massive funding rounds. General Catalyst topped the scene as the most active investor, both in terms of the number of rounds it led and the total financial value of the investments.
Top Investors in Funding Rounds
According to the data, General Catalyst led at least nine funding rounds during the month, followed by Lightspeed Venture Partners with eight rounds, and then both Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz with seven rounds each. These figures confirm the continued appetite of investors to inject large amounts of capital into various technology sectors.
Highest Value Investments
In terms of spending, General Catalyst maintained its lead with a total value of $5.1 billion in the rounds it led or co-led. Among the most notable of these deals are:
- A $2.1 billion funding round for Re:Build, a company specializing in product design and manufacturing.
- A $2 billion Series A funding round for Axiom Solutions International, a spin-off from manufacturing provider Flex that operates in the fields of cloud infrastructure and energy.
Other entities such as J.P. Morgan Asset Management and Koch Equity also emerged as key players in massive deals, in addition to the five investors who co-led the Series G round for the fintech company Ramp, valued at $1.9 billion.
What This Means for the Market
This data points to a strong and stable funding environment for startups, as investors remain willing to provide large sums to support innovation. Although no record-breaking deals were recorded comparable to those seen earlier in the year for companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, the pace of large deals reflects continued confidence in the growth of startups, refuting the existence of a noticeable slowdown in U.S. venture capital activity.
