Design and Technical Specifications
Anker has revealed the new Soundcore Space 2 Pro headphones, through which it aims to deliver an audio experience that rivals high-end headphones from companies like Apple, Sony, and Bose, but at a price starting from $200. The headphones rely on the new Thus audio chip, which serves as the core pillar for improving sound quality and call clarity.
The design features luxury touches that exceed its price category, as the company used lightweight materials with metal parts in the adjustment hinges, and soft leather wrapping for the headband and ear cushions, giving it a professional look far removed from traditional plastic.
Audio Performance and Call Clarity
The headphones use 35mm audio drivers designed with dual materials to enhance low frequencies (Bass) while maintaining the purity of high frequencies. Practical tests showed superiority in sound clarity, especially in audio tracks relying on musical instruments, where fine details stand out clearly.
As for the standout feature, it is the headphones' ability to isolate noise during calls, as they received a standard rating for call voice clarity. Thanks to the six-microphone array and the Thus chip, the headphones succeed in isolating surrounding noise without affecting the nature of the user's voice, making it sound natural and far away from excessive digital processing.
What Changes Practically for Users?
- Battery Life: The headphones provide up to 30 hours of playback with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled, and reach up to 60 hours when disabled.
- Noise Cancellation: Adaptive ANC 3.0 technology relies on eight microphones and is very effective in blocking out human voices and keyboard clicks, but it may struggle with continuous noise such as powerful fans.
- Additional Features: The headphones include the Hear ID 5.0 feature to customize sound based on a hearing test, with an "AI Note-Taker" feature listed as a future feature (TBD), which may require a paid subscription for cloud services after a trial period.
Limitations and Notes
Despite the strong performance, some software features such as presets and custom sound profiles did not offer tangible improvements compared to the default settings. Also, the AI note-taking feature is still inactive, making the true value of this feature pending until its official launch.
