SOCRadar has uncovered a phishing-as-a-service platform called AnonyMousKIT that targets owners of stolen iPhones to obtain passcodes and Apple Account data and disable Activation Lock. The platform is linked to 506 domains and 168 storefronts, while voice agents impersonating Apple Support were used in some of the attacks.
Apple confirmed sending a new batch of threat notifications on August 13 to users targeted by mercenary spyware attacks, noting that these alerts are based on high-confidence indicators. The company does not link this batch to any specific spyware program or particular government entity.
