Volvo plans to launch a Level 2++ automated driving system that enables hands-free driving and point-to-point navigation on local roads before the end of the decade, relying on Nvidia’s Hyperion and Alpamayo platforms. The system will use additional chips and sensors, as well as inference models, to handle traffic lights, intersections, and complex urban environments, without lidar in its current version.
