Kia has expanded its high-performance electric vehicle lineup by making three new models available for sale in Europe: the EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT. The new models cover different segments, from the compact hatchback or fastback to compact and midsize SUVs, extending a lineup that began with the EV6 GT in 2022 and was followed by the three-row EV9 GT in late 2024.
One Performance Platform, Three Applications
All three models rely on an all-wheel-drive system with two electric motors, along with electronically controlled suspension and dedicated technologies designed to improve responsiveness and handling. Kia also uses Virtual Gear Shift and Active Sound Design to simulate some of the sounds and sensations associated with sports cars powered by internal-combustion engines. This is an artificial experience directed at the driver and is not the result of operating a conventional engine.
The vehicles receive special GT design elements, including neon-green brake calipers, 20-inch aluminum wheels, semi-bucket sport seats with additional side bolstering, a dedicated steering wheel, and a different digital interface.
Performance and Range
The EV3 GT delivers a combined output of 288 horsepower, or 215 kilowatts, and 345 pound-feet of torque, equivalent to 468 newton-meters. Kia says the vehicle accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.7 seconds, with a range of up to 501 kilometers according to the WLTP standard.
The EV4 GT, available in hatchback and fastback versions, uses the same powertrain, with the hatchback reaching 100 kilometers per hour in 5.6 seconds. The fastback has a range of 537 kilometers, compared with 505 kilometers for the hatchback, according to WLTP.
The EV5 GT produces 301 horsepower, or 225 kilowatts, and 354 pound-feet of torque, equivalent to 480 newton-meters. It accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.2 seconds, while its range reaches 476 kilometers. All three models use an 81.4-kilowatt-hour battery.
Pricing and Availability by Market
In Germany, the EV3 GT starts at €53,990, the EV4 GT at €57,840, and the EV5 GT at €59,990. Kia said it would announce pricing and specifications for the United Kingdom later, with the EV4 GT fastback version not available in the British market.
In the United States, the EV3 GT is available at a starting price of $45,890, with an estimated Environmental Protection Agency range of 280 miles. By contrast, Kia does not plan to introduce the EV4 GT or EV5 GT there according to the information provided. The previous models, the EV6 GT and EV9 GT, remain more expensive in Germany, starting at €69,990 and €90,490, respectively.
What Changes in Practice?
Kia now offers electric performance options across multiple sizes and use cases, rather than limiting the GT category to larger and more expensive models.
