Turkey’s exports of telecommunications, computer and information services rose 25.3% during 2025 to reach $6.724 billion, while sector imports increased to $7.051 billion. This raised the share of technology services in Turkey’s total services exports to 5.4%.
Turkey’s exports of telecommunications, computer and information services reached $6 billion and $724 million at the end of 2025, an increase of 25.3% compared with 2024, according to data compiled by Anadolu Agency from figures released by the Turkish Statistical Institute. This performance placed technology services among the fastest-growing Turkish services export categories by value during the year.
The sector’s exports amounted to $5 billion and $367 million in 2024, representing an annual increase of $1 billion and $357 million. The contribution of telecommunications, computer and information services to Turkey’s total services exports also rose from 4.6% to 5.4%, out of total services exports of $124 billion and $879 million in 2025.
Technology sector among the largest sources of foreign currency
The sector ranked fourth among Turkey’s main foreign-currency-generating sectors, after travel, which recorded $60 billion; transport, at $42.6 billion; and other business services, which reached $7.9 billion.
However, export growth did not occur independently of expanding imports. Imports of telecommunications, computer and information services rose 30.8% to $7 billion and $51 million, bringing the sector’s total international trade to $13 billion and $775 million. The sector’s share of Turkey’s total services imports also increased from 9.6% to 11.4%.
Indicators linked to intellectual property and business services
The data also show growth in categories related to the technology economy. Exports of charges for the use of intellectual property rights, which include proceeds from patents, licenses and copyrights, rose 15.4% to $696 million, compared with $603 million in 2024.
Exports of “other business services,” which include research and development, technical engineering and management consulting activities, increased 14.5% to reach $7 billion and $872 million.
