Canik showcases its advanced weapon system capabilities at the international "BORAN 8" competition

Canik participated as a platinum sponsor in the eighth edition of the international BORAN sniper competition (BORAN VIII), which was held at the Gendarmerie Commando Training Command in the Foça district of Izmir, Turkey. The event was attended by military delegations from more than 20 countries, where the company showcased its latest solutions in the field of heavy machine guns and robotic systems.

Showcasing the field capabilities of heavy weapons

The live demonstrations presented by the company focused on the 12.7x99 mm caliber heavy machine gun family, where the M2 QCB model equipped with a silencer to reduce acoustic signature and muzzle flash was tested, enhancing hit accuracy in special operations. The M3 heavy machine gun integrated into the Naval Flex 50 naval platform was also displayed, which features a rate of fire of up to 1200 rounds per minute, making it an effective choice for naval platforms requiring high fire density.

Robotic and remote-controlled systems

In addition to traditional weapons, the company highlighted the development in automation systems by showcasing the VENOM LR 30x113 mm caliber cannon and the TRAKON CORE 30 remote-controlled weapon system (UKSS), which was developed by Canik Robotics. These systems reflect the trend toward integrating robotic stabilization into weapon platforms to increase the efficiency of combat operations.

Why this news matters

The importance of this participation lies in it being a platform for testing and developing defense systems in environments that simulate field reality and with a broad international presence. Ismail Düt, Director of the Canik Academy, pointed out that the field success of these systems in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies contributes to strengthening international confidence in the Turkish defense industry, which opens new horizons for strategic partnerships and increases the pace of defense exports.
