Alphabet announces record third-quarter 2026 revenue driven by cloud computing and AI growth

Alphabet, Google's parent company, announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, recording revenue of $127.6 billion, representing a 25% growth compared to $102.3 billion in the same period last year. These results put the company on track to achieve annual revenue approaching half a trillion dollars.

Cloud computing and artificial intelligence growth

Google Cloud experienced a massive 103% leap in revenue, reaching $30.71 billion compared to $15.16 billion in the third quarter of 2025. This growth is mainly due to the increasing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and the company's cloud solutions, in addition to the high demand for Google's Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) systems.

Gemini model expansion and user engagement

The company's CEO, Sundar Pichai, confirmed that artificial intelligence investments contributed to increased search rates, pointing out that the growth rate of search queries is the highest in five years. Gemini 4 models (in both Argon and Carbon versions) have also become at the forefront of advanced models, with the company's model APIs now processing about 32 billion tokens per minute, which is equivalent to four times the processing volume of a year ago.

On the consumer products front, the Gemini app achieved remarkable success by reaching one billion users, becoming the fastest-growing product in Google's history. Furthermore, the number of subscribers to YouTube Music and Premium services surpassed the 150 million mark globally.

General financial performance

The company's operating income reached $40.58 billion, while net income recorded $26.17 billion. Conversely, the "Other Bets" sector continued to record operating losses of $2.04 billion, despite generating modest revenue of $372 million. Meanwhile, YouTube advertising revenue recorded $11.2 billion, up from $10.26 billion the previous year.

What does this development mean?

These figures confirm the shift in Alphabet's strategy towards a total reliance on artificial intelligence infrastructure as a core pillar for growth. Doubling cloud computing revenue indicates the company's success in converting its massive hardware investments (such as TPU) into a sustainable source of income, placing it in direct and strong competition with other major cloud service providers focusing on delivering generative artificial intelligence capabilities to enterprises.
