ABA Life, a HealthTech company based in Morocco, has announced the signing of a major $40 million investment agreement with Admaius Capital Partners, a leading African private equity firm. This move, which is subject to approval by the Moroccan Competition Council, marks a pivotal milestone in the company's efforts to become a global player in health technology, starting from Morocco.
ABA Life is the health arm of the ABA Technology group, founded and chaired by Mohamed Benouda. Since its inception in 2021, the company has successfully built an integrated business model that combines several advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, medical technology, telemedicine, as well as connected health infrastructure and clinical services.
What does this investment change?
This funding will not be limited to operational expansion; it directly aims to accelerate the pace of technical innovation through three main pillars:
- "AI for Sovereign Health" program: A significant portion of the investment will be directed toward developing the Mediot AI platform and clinical intelligence solutions, enhancing the ability of health systems to make data-driven decisions.
- Scaling medical technologies: Working to transform technical innovations into solutions that can be applied on a large scale (industrialization) to ensure medical services reach a larger segment of users.
- International expansion: Exporting the expertise and technologies developed in Morocco to global markets.
Ambitions to reach "Unicorn" status
Mohamed Benouda, Chairman of ABA Technology, expressed the company's vision of making ABA Life a global reference in the field of medical technology, noting the ambition to lead the company to unicorn status from within the Kingdom of Morocco. This approach focuses on proving that profitable and scalable health technology models can be developed and exported from the African region.
For its part, Admaius Capital Partners indicated that its decision to invest in ABA Life was based on the company's ability to integrate medical devices with connected infrastructure and proprietary technologies, creating an integrated digital health ecosystem that possesses immense growth potential in both emerging and advanced markets.
