Logitech Launches Rally Speaker 2 Pro and Rally Speaker 2 Max with Sound Shape Technology for Directing Audio Inside Meeting Rooms

Logitech has unveiled the Rally Speaker 2 Pro and Rally Speaker 2 Max systems, two soundbars designed for very large meeting rooms and training environments. The announcement marks the company’s entry into the professional audiovisual systems market, using Sound Shape technology to direct sound from the front of the room instead of distributing ceiling speakers across the room.

Logitech says the design targets a common problem in divisible rooms and boardrooms, where ceiling speakers and complex wiring can lead to higher installation costs. Sound reflections from walls and ceilings can also cause echo, uneven sound levels, and listening fatigue.

How does Sound Shape technology work?

The Rally Speaker 2 Pro contains an array of 32 small speakers inside a single soundbar, while the Rally Speaker 2 Max increases the number to 64 units to expand coverage. These units use wave-control principles to direct sound beams toward specific areas, while reducing the amount of sound reaching other directions through deliberate wave interference.

Logitech compares this approach to a focused spotlight, as opposed to a conventional lamp that spreads light in all directions. According to the presentation included in the material, this makes it possible to reduce sound reflections from surfaces and achieve a more uniform level between the front and rear of the room. In a room 12 meters long, the decrease in sound level with the Rally Speaker 2 Pro is no more than approximately the level of a human breath, according to the company.

What changes in practice in meeting rooms?

The solution relies solely on speakers mounted at the front of the room, which may simplify the audio infrastructure compared with installing ceiling speakers and running cables across the room. Its primary value lies in addressing variations in sound level and reflections through software and coordinated control of an array of small speakers, rather than by increasing the number of sound sources distributed throughout the space.

However, these capabilities remain tied to the company’s claims and the results of its initial demonstrations, as the material did not include independent test results or details about pricing, installation requirements, and full compatibility with existing room equipment.

Multiple audio paths for simultaneous interpretation

Logitech also presented a development-stage concept for rooms using more than one language at the same time. Through precise direction, the Rally Speaker 2 Max can send two different audio paths to opposite sides of the room, allowing participants on each side to listen to a different language without installing separate speakers for each area.

The company is working with its partners to integrate simultaneous interpretation in Microsoft Teams meetings and the Voice Translator feature in Zoom meetings with this technology. According to the material, this use remains prospective and is not a commercially available feature of either system at the time of the announcement.

Availability

The two systems can be tested at Logitech’s experience center in Silicon Valley, with a commercial launch scheduled for summer 2027. The source did not mention pricing or the markets where sales will begin.
