OnePlus has officially begun implementing its plan for a full transition to the Oppo ecosystem, revealing the rollout schedule for the ColorOS 17 update based on the Android 17 system. This update represents a strategic turning point, as OnePlus will stop using the independent OxygenOS interface and instead rely on ColorOS for all its future updates.
This transition is considered the final announcement of the merger of OnePlus's software identity with Oppo, as the software development teams of both companies have been merged for years, making the two interfaces almost identical. With the arrival of the Android 17 update, the unification becomes official and comprehensive for all devices that will receive support.
November 2026 Update Schedule
According to what the ColorOS Global account announced, the update will begin arriving for a group of OnePlus devices during the month of November according to the following dates:
- November 5: OnePlus 13R
- November 17: OnePlus 12
- November 18: OnePlus Pad 3
- November 24: OnePlus Open (the foldable phone)
- November 26: OnePlus Nord 6 and OnePlus Nord CE 6
Expectations also indicate that 13 additional OnePlus devices, including the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, and OnePlus Pad 2, will receive the ColorOS 17 update during December 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.
What Changes in Practice?
The change is not limited to names only; ColorOS 17 focuses on a deep integration of artificial intelligence technologies under the "Flow with AI" vision. This vision aims to make interactions with the phone smoother and more automatic, so that the system understands the context of the user's use and helps them navigate between different tasks and devices with minimal technical friction.
For users, this shift means obtaining a unified software experience with Oppo and Realme devices, with a focus on improving responsiveness and generative AI that helps transform ideas into tangible results directly through the system, enhancing daily productivity efficiency.
