Available Tools and Programs
Participating public schools and higher education institutions will receive access to Gemini for Education and Gemini Notebook, for use in preparing educational materials that account for differences in students’ levels, summarizing curricula, and providing step-by-step educational support. Google says research indicates that artificial intelligence can provide teachers with an average of up to 10 hours per week, although this figure appears in the announcement as a general research finding rather than an expected measurement for every institution in Missouri.
The initiative also includes the Google AI Educator Series, training programs and foundational certificates for teachers and administrators aimed at building practical artificial intelligence skills at a pace determined by the trainee. Google AI Professional Certificate and Google Career Certificates can also be integrated into high school and college courses to develop skills related to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis, and information technology support.

Google confirms that conversations and data within Gemini for Education are private and protected by enterprise security, and that they are not used to train its artificial intelligence models. It also says that educational institutions retain administrative control over their data.
