BYD Sells 4,000 Units of its Luxury Car "Great Han" in 19 Days

BYD recorded strong sales for its new electric car "Great Han" (known in China as Da Han), reaching 4,000 units in just 19 days from its launch date on October 13, 2026. This car is the first fully electric D-segment sedan within the company's Dynasty lineup.

Advanced Performance and Charging Technologies

The car relies on the second generation of BYD's Blade batteries, which provide a driving range of up to 1,008 km in the rear-wheel drive (RWD) model according to the CLTC standard. The car also supports "Flash Charging" technology, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, while a full charge (up to 97%) takes about 9 minutes.

The car comes with single or dual powertrain options, where the all-wheel drive (AWD) model generates a total power of up to 570 kW (764 horsepower), with a 102.326 kWh battery pack used across all models.

Smart Driving Systems and Luxury

BYD equipped its car with the "God’s Eye B" smart driving system, which relies on roof-mounted LiDAR sensors, providing features such as autonomous navigation on highways and within cities, in addition to a remote smart parking feature. In terms of design and luxury, the car features a dual-chamber air suspension system (DiSus-A), rear-wheel steering, and front seats designed for maximum comfort.

What Does This Launch Mean?

This commercial performance confirms BYD's ability to compete in the luxury car segment with prices exceeding 250,000 yuan (approximately $37,500). With a size that exceeds models like the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air, BYD positions itself in direct competition with large luxury sedan categories, reflecting the company's strategy to enhance its market share by integrating ultra-fast battery technologies with advanced smart driving systems.
