Meta announced the Meta One subscription service on September 15, 2026, combining paid benefits across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI instead of limiting the subscription to a single app. The service includes greater use of certain artificial intelligence tools, additional expression and customization features, and professional tools for creators and businesses.
Meta says the plans are being rolled out gradually and that more than 50 features are now available through the service, while the number of subscriptions and trials exceeded 15 million as of the announcement date. The company emphasizes that the core experience across its apps and Meta AI will remain free, and that the subscriptions are intended to provide specialized capabilities and expanded usage beyond what is available through the free service designed for billions of users.
Plans for Individuals and AI Users
Meta One includes individual plans linked to a specific app. WhatsApp Plus starts at $2.99 per month and adds exclusive themes and icons, stickers with special effects, and the ability to pin more chats. Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus start at $3.99 per month, with features such as custom fonts for messages and stories, message previews, additional Messenger customizations, broader Reels performance indicators, and extra engagement features.
The Core and Premium plans combine the benefits of the individual plans with greater use of certain compute-intensive Meta AI capabilities. Features include image generation and editing and video creation powered by Muse models, along with repeated use of in-app tools such as Restyle on Instagram and voice effects. Core starts at $7.99 per month, while Premium costs $19.99 per month; the latter provides a larger usage allowance for content creation through Meta AI and Meta apps.
According to Meta, early testing showed that more than half of subscribers to the bundled plans used AI and expression features together, with Restyle and voice effects among the most common reasons for subscribing. This percentage remains the result of a company-announced test and is not an independent measurement of the behavior of all users.
Plans for Creators and Businesses
Meta One offers tiers aimed at creators and businesses for managing their digital presence from within existing apps, without creating a new account or downloading a separate app. The tools include an enhanced profile displaying a website, geographic locations, and audience opinions; a prominent follow button in Reels; automatically sending follow invitations to people who interact with content; and greater access to Meta Business Agent for responding to customers.
The Essential plan starts at $14.99 per month and includes a verified badge, a verified channel in the WhatsApp Business app, and protection against impersonation, subject to successful completion of verification. The Advanced plan, starting at $49.99, adds story scheduling for up to 30 days, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights, and team-member access management without sharing the password.
The Expert and Max plans, starting at $149 and $499 per month respectively, target teams that need the highest levels of feature access and Meta Business Agent capacity. Meta also plans to add Edits Plus, with more cloud storage and additional capabilities for the Edits assistant to analyze Instagram data and suggest new ideas.
What Changes in Practice?
Meta One turns some artificial intelligence and customization capabilities from scattered features into subscription tiers linked to usage level and account type. This matters to creators and businesses that rely on Meta tools to manage content and customers, while also allowing individual users to purchase greater media-generation capacity instead of relying only on free limits.
However, the announcement does not provide a unified table of features or prices; Meta explains that availability, benefits, and prices may vary by region, app, and account. Therefore, the advertised price cannot be considered a guarantee of what will appear for every user, and the value of the subscription will depend on how extensively AI tools and professional features are actually used. Details such as usage limits, the verification process, and subtle differences between markets remain points that require review when subscribing from the relevant account.
