Palo Alto Networks paid approximately $500 million in cash and stock to acquire Console, a startup developing AI agents to automate IT support tasks. The technology company will integrate the startup into its Cortex platform to turn its capabilities into automated security alert investigation and remediation workflows.
Serval announced the general availability of its intelligent agent Catalyst on August 20, 2026, enabling it by default for its customers to suggest automation opportunities and build the workflows needed for them. The platform also creates background agents that monitor connected systems and suggest remediation before a support ticket is opened.
