Hatem Dowidar Invests in Agentic AI Startup Tactful AI

Tactful AI, a startup specializing in the development of intelligent customer experience infrastructure powered by Agentic AI, has announced that Hatem Dowidar, former Group CEO of e&, has participated in its pre-Series A investment extension round through a direct investment, without disclosing the financial details of the transaction.

This investment step coincides with the company's preparations to launch a new generation of customer experience technologies aimed at enhancing the operational agility of major enterprises and their proactive capability to handle market demands. This support follows Dowidar's career spanning over 25 years in the telecommunications and technology sector, which included leading the e& group until March 2026 and previously serving as the CEO of Vodafone Egypt.

Why This News Matters

The investment serves as an indicator of veteran telecom executives' interest in emerging agentic AI technologies in the region. According to Mohamed El-Masry, Co-founder and CEO of Tactful AI, Dowidar's extensive experience in managing major telecommunications and technology institutions provides the company with significant weight in its pursuit of gaining the trust of large organizations.

For his part, Hatem Dowidar noted that major institutions are looking for practical and reliable solutions to safely and widely integrate artificial intelligence, which is what he observed in the company's operational infrastructure.

Accelerated Growth and a New Technological Horizon

The next-generation technologies of Tactful AI seek to surpass the current limitations of artificial intelligence systems—which are often restricted to answering traditional inquiries—to building, modifying, and entirely developing customer experiences within the enterprise, while maintaining human oversight and reliability at every step.

The company has recorded notable growth in its metrics since January 2025; its annual recurring revenues increased by 11.7 times, and the number of monthly customer conversations multiplied by 32 times, serving a roster of major institutions including El Araby Group, Raneen, 2B, Lucky, Erada Financial, and Simplex.

It is worth noting that this extension round comes as an extension of a funding round announced in February 2026 co-led by Foras AI and M Empire, while the company plans to launch a new Series A funding round during 2027.
