BYD Opens Reservations for "Denza N8" Luxury Vehicle with Driving Range Exceeding 1,000 Kilometers

BYD has officially opened pre-orders for its new luxury all-electric SUV, the "Denza N8", in the Chinese market. This vehicle is the luxury brand's first all-electric model to break the 1,000-kilometer barrier according to the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), thanks to its adoption of the company's next-generation battery technologies.

According to official data, the new version relies on "Blade Battery 2.0" technology and ultra-fast charging technologies to achieve a driving range of 1,003 kilometers on a single charge. This step follows the launch of several previous hybrid models, making the "Denza N8" the brand's first all-electric SUV to achieve this figure within the large five-seater sports vehicle category.

Powertrain and Available Batteries

The vehicle will be available with two powertrain options. The first relies on rear-wheel drive with a single motor generating a power output ranging between 320 kilowatts (429 horsepower) and 370 kilowatts (496 horsepower). The second option relies on BYD's proprietary "e3" platform with a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system, featuring a 270-kilowatt front motor and two 310-kilowatt rear motors, bringing the total system power to 890 kilowatts (equivalent to 1,193 horsepower).

Previous regulatory filings revealed the availability of two battery packs with capacities of 130.15 kilowatt-hours and 105.79 kilowatt-hours, providing a driving range of 1,003 kilometers and 800 kilometers, respectively.

Technical and Entertainment Specifications

The vehicle's interior features an advanced cabin that includes a giant 30-inch infotainment screen extending across the dashboard on the passenger side, in addition to a 43-inch (1.1-meter) panoramic head-up display (PHUD) mounted at the bottom of the windshield. Equipment also includes seats that support zero-gravity positioning in all rows, rooftop-mounted LiDAR sensors to support the "God's Eye 5.0" intelligent driving system, as well as the "DiSus-A" intelligent air suspension system.

What Changes Practically?

The launch of the "Denza N8" represents a qualitative leap in the operational range capabilities of BYD's luxury electric SUVs, moving beyond previous hybrid solutions to rely entirely on electrical energy with high-density batteries. The company is offering promotional incentives for early reservations, while official pricing and the actual launch are expected to be revealed next November following the release of the longer six-seater version, the "Denza N8L".
