Turkish Travel Experience Automation System Wins International Award in Frankfurt

Quavis, a group of companies subsidiary of Turkey's Emse Mühendislik operating in the OSTİM region of the capital Ankara, won the «Passenger Experience Innovation Award» during the World Aviation Conference hosted by the German city of Frankfurt.

The event was attended by more than 700 professionals and experts from the senior management of various airports, airlines, and aviation authorities around the world. Quavis competed in the passenger experience solutions category, advancing to the finals alongside Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways, ultimately having its system crowned with the international award based on the evaluation and votes of experts and participants.

Integrated Technologies for Self-Travel Management

The developed technology relies on integrating hardware and software together to provide a unified station that allows passengers to complete all travel procedures within a single device known as a «Hybrid Kiosk», without the need to move between multiple counters. The system includes reading personal data, check-in procedures, baggage weighing, and paying corresponding fees.

In addition, the system relies on facial recognition technology, seat selection, and the purchase of additional services, as well as integrating an intelligent digital assistant powered by artificial intelligence capable of providing support in multiple languages, which reduces the time required to complete procedures before boarding the plane to just a few minutes. Thanks to the compact design of the hardware and software, the system can be adapted to meet the various operational needs of airlines and airports.

What This Achievement Represents Locally and Internationally

Serin Oğuz, General Manager of Quavis GmbH, explained that the award is the fruit of many years of research, development, and engineering efforts. She pointed out that the solutions created by Turkish engineering personnel have become a real alternative to imported products in the self-travel automation sector. It is worth noting that these systems are currently used effectively by prominent airlines and airport authorities in Turkey such as Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, SunExpress, AJet, and Corendon, in addition to İGA, TAV, and Çelebi.
