BYD has launched the fully electric version of the Denza N8L, an extended luxury three-row, six-seat SUV, after the vehicle had been available since October 2025 only with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The price of the N8L EV Premium starts at 299,800 yuan, or approximately $45,000, while the Flagship version costs about 329,800 yuan, or nearly $49,000.
Large Battery and Ultra-Fast Charging
Both versions use a BYD Blade Battery 2.0 with a capacity of 130.15 kilowatt-hours and offer up to 960 kilometers of range according to the Chinese CLTC cycle, equivalent to approximately 596 miles. The vehicle uses an 800-volt electrical architecture with BYD’s Flash Charging technology.
According to the announced figures, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in five minutes, while charging from 10% to 97% takes approximately nine minutes. These figures remain dependent on testing conditions and the charging equipment used, and CLTC range is not necessarily equivalent to real-world range in daily driving conditions or to ranges measured under other standards.
More Space and Digital Equipment
The N8L EV retains the dimensions of the current hybrid version: it is 5,200 millimeters long, 1,999 millimeters wide, and 1,820 millimeters high, with a wheelbase of 3,075 millimeters. The cabin features a 2+2+2 seating layout, distinguishing it from the standard five-seat N8 version.
The cabin includes six digital screens: an instrument display, a central infotainment screen, a front-passenger screen, two rear entertainment screens, and a retractable screen. It also includes an augmented-reality head-up display, AR-HUD. Other equipment includes NAPPA leather seats, a velvet-lined roof, transparent wood trim, and a Devialet sound system.
What Changes in Practice?
The N8L EV represents an expansion of Denza’s options more than a redesign of the vehicle; the main change is the addition of an all-electric powertrain to a model that previously relied on plug-in hybrid propulsion. The vehicle combines a large battery, an 800-volt architecture, and ultra-fast charging with an interior designed for families that need six seats.
BYD says the vehicle is equipped with the God’s Eye 5.0 driver-assistance system, with functions including highway navigation assistance and remote automatic parking. It also integrates the Smart Travel Ecosystem and an intelligent assistant powered by artificial intelligence to control smart home devices and connected services.
The vehicle also uses the DiSus-A body-control system and a dual-chamber air suspension.
